Man has always been searching for knowing what the future might bring and if it had as origin what was reflected in the sky, giving it a divine character, this is the reason that led the ancient astrologers to relate the constellations found through the study of the sky (astronomy) with animals, mythology and religion, which were the overriding themes at the time, which allowed the emergence of the Zodiac, which are nothing but the 12 constellations renamed by Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo , Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, which are intended to reflect the behavior of human beings according to their date of birth.
We all know that astrology uses many words and concepts from astronomy and one of them is the word zodiac, which according to researchers it comes from the Greek Zoon, which means “animal” and Diakos which means “wheel” which together mean “wheel of animals” and it is used to plot the area of space on which both the sun and the moon and planets seen from earth develop their careers. For specialists in this sector it is the curved line called ecliptic.
The reason for the name “wheel of animals” is given by the ancient astronomers, who noted that in the space of 360 degrees where the sun’s path takes place, there is a background of stars that arbitrarily grouped and linked imaginatively presented astronomical figures called “constellations“, which occupy a single space of 30 degrees each, making it possible to understand that there are twelve of them spread in the space.
These astronomical figures are called “constellations” for various reasons, which include religious, mythological and symbolic matters that ended up adopting different forms:
Aries constellation named in honor of Ram.
Designated constellation Taurus because of the Bull.
Cancer constellation corresponding to the Crab.
Well – known constellation Leo, because of the Lion.
Constellation Scorpius the referred to the Scorpion.
Capricorn constellation referring to the Goat.
Constellation Pisces referring to the Fish.
Gemini constellation reminiscent of the twins Castor and Pollux.
Libra constellation assigned because it reminds of the Balance.
Recognized constellation Virgo as well as depicting the Virgin Mary.
The Archer, which reflects the constellation Sagittarius.
Water evokes the constellation Aquarius.
These constellations are identified only used by Western astrology; Chinese astrology uses other kind of zodiac signs. In either case we intend to link the behavior of these constellations to human behavior according to their date of birth and from there set to predict their future behavior.
The significance of the date of birth is given to the fact that, according to that date the zodiac sign which is visible in the space of 360 degrees which takes the path of the sun will be assigned, which is known as rising sign, allowing us to establish the following table:
ZODIAC SIGNS PERIOD BY BIRTH DATE
